Bed Time Saturday Story: Rainbows, Hawaii and Junie B

We read the book on Rainbows. The book is called -Over the Rainbow . We listened to the CD song by Judy Collins. This is the best story.  Best line from the story is : "Somewhere over the rainbow skies are blue, and the deams that you dare to dream really come true."

I started reading to Aleli - Junie B., First Grader -Aloha. We talked about how Junie B is photo journalist for her 1st grade class going to Hawaii. She has a photojournal. Aleli liked the idea of starting her own photojournal blog online and taking pictures of places here - in her day trips.

We looked at pictures of Hawaii in a book about Hawaii. We talked about how there are other islands like in the Pacific like JAPAN. We talked about how CUBA is an island in the Caribean. We also talked about "PARADISE" like Junie B. talked in her class.

We also compared this book to a real event in Aleli's life. Her trip to Florida last year .The airplane ride and train ride.

* We talked about the seasons and how Spring arrives tomorrow. That she can capture Spring's images in a photo journal.

Dec 2 - Music Education

She went on Starfall and explored all about Mozart, Chopin and Beethoven. She looked at the stories and heard the music.

Sunday : Music Education & Art

Aleli listened to a variety of songs from " The Playground"  Direct TV radio station. Aleli is listening to songs like Gene Autrey's Here Comes Santa Claus.

For Art activities she is exploring with watercolor and stamps. She is mixing stamping horse prints and watercolor activities.

Morning Work: Music Education

As we continue to explore music we listened to Symphonic. This is a station on Direct TV that plays music from the Baroque,Classical and Romantic Periods . We listened to Thiffault- Concerto Grosso Op. 3. No 5. It was from Germinaiani. This was an interesting piece of music. We discovered the sounds of piano and flute in the melody.

Music Education: Listening to Kid Tunes

Music Education: Listening to the Direct TV / Sonic Station Called " The Playground" . She is listening to this station . She heard these songs :

Saturday Actitvities

Aleli completed 4 art paintings using watercolor this morning. She also listened to about 14+ kids songs on Playground. She listened , sang along and danced to the tunes.

Wednesday: Music Lesson

She listened to " The Playground" and she sang along to the songs. She listened to Alvin & the Chipmunks -We are Family. She danced and sang to the tunes. She also heard other music geared to kids and children.

Saturday Projects

The Theme for Saturday are still Art and Music. She will practice her Spanish Speaking Skills with family and watch the art themed tv show called "Mister Maker" on Discovery Kids-in Spanish. She will watch and explore art with "Mister Maker" show. She also will listen to the "Fresh Beat Band" and discover the art of story telling by dance in their Hawaii show. These Saturday projects will supplement her learning.
