Aleli successfully completed a DreamBox milestone!
Congratulations! Aleli successfully completed a group of DreamBox Learning lessons.
In this DreamBox unit, Aleli learned to recognize numbers that were doubles, as well as to build the double of a given number. Working with doubles is an important foundation for later work with odd and even numbers. Doubles are also important as they can be used for near doubles when learning the basic math facts. For example, 7 + 6 (a near double) can be solved with 6 + 6 (a double) + 1.
DreamBox Learning's math curriculum is based on the curriculum targets set by the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, focusing on the key areas of number sense and computation. One mother told us, "When the boys ask to play on the computer, I encourage them to play DreamBox. I want them to spend their time using their brains and developing their logical-thinking skills.”
The On-the-Run activity below is a good opportunity to explore what your child is learning as you go through your day. Let Aleli show you what she has learned in DreamBox, so you can celebrate her accomplishment!
Remember: you can always check Aleli's academic progress on the Parent Dashboard.

On-the-Run: Double My Number
One player picks a number between 1 and 10 and the other doubles it. Also, look for things in the environment that come in twos, such as eyes, ears, hands, mittens, socks, shoes, etc. Figure out how many there are in total, for instance 6 pairs of socks is 12 socks.Best regards,
