We took Aleli this week to Chucky Cheese where she was able to use her math skills. She counted and sorted her tickets. She learned to add them up to get rewards at Chucky Cheese. We began talking about Fractions in real life. 1/2 Pizza versus a Whole Pizza......

Counting & Math

She was counting coins all this week. She has been putting together quarters and sorting a penny, nickel and quarters, dimes. She is learning more about money and cost of products.  She has been hearning stories. She has been counting even when we are in the car. We are watching the 25 Days of Christmass Special : Santa Clause Movie with Tim Allen. We used this movie to discuss a countdown to Xmass and to do Xmass math worksheet. She added up.

Fifa World Cup : 2018 & 2012

We discussed the countries  that will be hosting the World Cup in 2018 and 2022. We discussed how Russia and Qatar will be the host for this Soccer game. We will look at the map to see where they are located. We will follow up and see what will be done to plan for these big events.

Aleli read the story from the Book - Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons by: Engelmann. This book uses SRA's DISTAR method. The book prepares a child to read at a 2nd grade level. Aleli read the story -Hunting for Tigers Part 2 on page 390 ( Lesson 100) independently.

Aleli's Winter Garden

We started noticing that our indoor tomato plants are growing. We had taken a couple of seeds from the tomato we brought home from the store. We watered the plants and see if we can grow indoor tomato plants in the winter.

Thanksgiving Activities

Family Movie Night included 2 Charlie Brown movies dealing with Thanksgiving and MayFlower. So Aleli learned about the history of Thanksgiving and the voyage of the Mayflower. She also went to Mass today at the Catholic Church. They talked about the history of Thanksgiving and the holiday's history.

Art

Aleli kept painting with watercolors. Exploring mixing colors and painting.
